There is also potential to be in denial about everything, including your finances.
Who out there knows exactly what I am talking about? If finances have made you feel awful, sticky, upset, gooey, uncertain, confused, angry, sick, or otherwise disposed of, then THIS BLOG ON FINANCES IS FOR YOU.
Everything in feng shui relates to everything else in feng shui. Meaning, if one area of your feng shui energy pattern is altered, then other areas will experience a ripple effect. Of course, there are ways to emphasize something you want to change, and that area will potentially feel the bulk of the energy adjustment, but rest assured, once an improvement is felt in one area of your life, it will eventually be felt in all areas of your life. It is poetry in motion. It is beautiful. It is the I-Ching in action. This holistic, "we are all one" meme is so much more than an attitude. It is deeply embedded in the fabric of life. And how cool that the sages who absorbed this wisdom were able to tie it in to the flow of our environment, the very fabric of humanity.
In order to attain a state of awareness and peace about your finances, many of the areas of your living space/business may need to be adjusted and cleared. It is an exciting process and one that encompasses every facet of your being. If you think about it, finances = money = your time and energy = energy. Ultimately, Finances = Energy. What are you doing every day to create energy in your life? What are you thinking while creating energy? Who are you choosing to surround yourself with while you are "making money"? Are you exhausted and "just getting by"? Are you exhausted and "making tons of money"? Do you make a modest income but know how to manage your budget and live within your means?
Along with being a feng shui specialist, I am also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). What I have seen over the years has been incredible and it just proves to me that it is not how much you make, but what you do with what you make, that really matters. I have known the very rich to be broke. I have also seen people who make small amounts retire in comfort because they have lived within their means and planned well.
The nine energy centers in the feng shui pattern of your Home/Business are: Career, Skills & Wisdom, Family, Abundance, Fame & Reputation, Relationships, Creativity & Children, Helpful People & Travel, and Health. A change in any one of these centers will eventually influence the others.
Everyone's path to financial wisdom will be different. Some people may need to change CAREERS so that they will be happier in a different field of expertise, thus potentially producing a higher income (ABUNDANCE). Let's hope when they have a higher income they have the SKILLS & WISDOM to know how to spend their money wisely. Some people may come from a FAMILY that has instilled in them a sense of poverty. This impoverished mindset will need to be cleared so that they will feel better about themselves (FAME & REPUTATION), thus attracting better RELATIONSHIPS, which through networking (HELPFUL PEOPLE), will attract a CAREER that works well for them. Perhaps it is as simple as whipping up a feng shui cure in the ABUNDANCE section which will then draw in the money that they so desire.
Today, let's get practical.
It is time to assess where you are with your energy/money/finances.
PRACTICAL #1 - Examine your Abundance section
PRACTICAL #2 - Face reality now and get organized
The Abundance & Prosperity section is located in the far left corner of the space. What is in YOUR abundance area? When you are in this area of your home/business, how do you feel? What books are here? What pictures are on your walls? Is it clean? Is your dirty laundry basket here? Are you inspired?
A few things to enhance the area:
Purple, gold, green, red, plants, crystals (particularly amethyst), cash, moving things, pictures of loads of money and riches, and things you love.
A few things to remove from the area:
Old objects, dirt, dust, items that make you feel stressed or depressed, things that are not working, and too much fire (too many candles or a fireplace).
Get organized and face the facts of your financial status. This is going to be strenuous, so be prepared, be patient, and be kind to yourself. Hire a financial advisor. Create a budget. List everything you own (bank account, house, business, yacht, 401k, pension, real estate investment) and everything you owe (credit card debt, student loan debt, loans payable, mortgage). Got all that?
Here are some helpful links and remember, in order to know where you are going, you have to know where you are. THERE IS EXTREME EMPOWERMENT in this process of gathering all of your financial information. Once you have faced your financial facts and have all the information in an easy to use format, you can move forward with strength, direction, drive, and determination. Now go out there and make me proud.
